A developer promised a supermarket for a new neighborhood. Now it can’t deliver. A developer can’t find a large grocer to fill the space it promised to an emerging D.C. neighborhood. Now it’s asking permission to scale back to half the footprint.

A grocery store at McMillan is not an issue.

The Trader Joe's on Monroe in Brookland, and Whole Foods on Florida in Shaw are both a mile away. Let's get something else in the commercial space at the site.

Police pursued this BMW X3 SUV from Chillum into #BrooklandDC where driver (and only occupant) crashed at 10th St and Franklin St NE, took off on foot, tossed a baggie of pills and was captured on Evarts St. This SUV was involved in a DC robbery this month. Police made today's arrest with Guardian.

Update: Male victim (probable teen) shot on platform of Brookland Metro, 890 Monroe St NE. CPR has been in progress. VCB-homicide squad en route. Police are canvassing for the shooter. The station was full of kids coming home from school. #wmata #DCCrime #BrooklandDC
