The figure shows a scheme of a branched cell migrating on a hexagonal network. Different cells in a simulation are shown in the network spanning 1-4 junctions. The bottom panels show macrophages with similar shapes to those of the simulation.

The image composite shows a cell migrating over a line, then facing a bifurcation with 2 possible new directions the cell has 2 arms of similar lenght, then eventually one arm grows more and the cells takes that new direction and has a linear shape again.

In a HFSP founded project we found that @ a junction the membrane oscillates & actin #cystoskeleton accumulation define the new direction.
+ cancer cells decide much faster!
