As Secretary-Treasurer of ....AFSCME....and president of ...CBTU, I urge you to schedule hearings on this important piece of legislation. The life of Dr. King hold special significance for AFSCME. He met his untimely and unfortunate death while supporting striking sanitation workers who sought better working conditions in Memphis, Tennessee. Both AFSCME and CBTU have passed convention resolutions supporting enactment of this legislation. Again, on behalf of AFSCME and CBTU, I urge you to hold hears on HR 800."
