The only English referees appointed to a Conference League game this week are Darren England and Matt Donohue, as VAR and AVAR in Lech Poznan v SK Rapid.
Last weekend:
- England was VAR in both #CHEBRI and #NEWARS
- Donohue was VAR in #CRYLIV
I suppose both clubs are worried now.

Option a) this is 'violent conduct' and Caicedo gets a red
Option b) this is not violent, the defender was hit in the chest and not the head so he is simulating, hence 'unsporting behaviour' and a yellow.
Either way, Hooper and VAR got it wrong.
Just checked #CHEBRI... Frankly, the current PL rule allowing for suspensions to be served in cup games is silly.
They are different tournaments, they should count separate bookings (as in the other major leagues, by the way).
Sanchez was red-carded last week, yet has not missed a PL game 🤷♂️
