During the visit, Dr. El Alaoui was introduced to the organic chemistry laboratories, and discussions were held on the synthetic aspects of small-molecule inhibitors within the framework of the #CHIRONProject.
As part of our #CHIRONProject, Dr. Erika Bálint and Dr. Béla Mátravölgyi from Budapest University of Technology and Economics had the opportunity to complete a secondment at COVALAB in Lyon.
A moment captured with #CHIRONProject partner COVALAB during Pink October – Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 💗
The message remains vital: awareness, early detection, solidarity.
Early detection saves lives.

💫As #CHIRONProject, in collaboration with Izmir Biomedicine and Genome Center and RareBoost, we completed the lecture “Introduction to Immunology” by Dr. Gerhard Wingender.
A look back at a dinner in Athens with #CHIRONProject partners Dr. Eleftherios Pilalis, Dr. Philippe Krebs and Dr. Aristotelis Chatziioannou.
The collaboration and insights shared on that occasion continue to support the project’s progress💫
Within the conference, Dr. Chatziioannou chaired Session S.16 “Genes–Proteins”, where he introduced VarOmeter, an integrative platform developed within the #CHIRONProject for the functional annotation of non-coding genetic variants and the exploration of their regulatory roles in complex traits.
✨It was great to see #CHIRONProject partner Dr. Philippe Krebs presenting at the Biomedical Research Foundation, Academy of Athens!
The talk, titled "𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗺: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝘂𝗰𝗼𝘀𝗮𝗹 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗪𝗮𝗿", explored how the mucosal barrier balances homeostasis and inflammation.
As #CHIRONProject, we successfully completed an inspiring session with Prof. Fahri Saatçıoğlu from the University of Oslo, as part of the Teaching & Training Series in cooperation with IBG & RareBoost.
✨We’re delighted to welcome Maria Despoina Liassa (from e-NIOS) to the Wingender Lab at IBG as part of her secondment within the #CHIRONProject!
It’s a pleasure to have her join the team and share her expertise and enthusiasm.
During his visit to our partner Dr. Micheau (INSERM, Dijon, France), Dr. Wingender (IBG, Izmir, Turkey) had the opportunity to introduce our #CHIRONProject and IBG's contribution to it at CTM's annual scientific meeting (3.10.25) of the Center for Translational and Molecular Medicine (CTM, Dijon).
A glimpse from our project partners in Athens💫
Discussing the circuitry of immune cell subtypes in cancer on a rainy Athenian day. Fantastic to see this collaboration in motion!
