The last part of the event - and the most celebratory bit - was welcoming some new #CIOB members, including our youngest Fellow in Oceania & the first person to achieve the TechCIOB grade in Oceania. I also got to thank Zubin Marolia, our longest serving member in New South Wales.

We ended the day yesterday at the #CPD event “Tackling the Housing Crisis: Policy, Planning & Delivery Perspectives” in Double Bay. It was an insightful panel discussion, excellently moderated by our Sydney Hub Chair. Thanks to all the participants for sharing their knowledge and experience.

Our next meeting, accompanied by some of our #CIOB Hub members, was with the Australian Constructors Association. An excellent discussion on shared priorities for driving the industry forward - lots of potential for #collaboration and we look forward to working with them more.

On Monday evening, with thanks to Mott MacDonald, our hosts, we held a well-attended event “Sustainability as a delivery discipline – not an add on”. A terrific panel session with knowledgeable speakers. While there, we also took the opportunity to welcome a new #CIOB member Stephen Sugrue MCIOB.

Busy but brilliant day yesterday starting with a chat with Robert Hughes of the Landscape Institute. Then off to a roundtable discussion on membership organisations. The afternoon saw me back in the office in meetings with #CIOB members and then a catch up with Amos Simbo OBE of the BPIC Network.
It's National Careers Week and we've published a new Attitudes to #Construction Careers report highlighting positive views on careers in the #BuiltEnvironment. But more needs to be done to encourage people to take up jobs & training places.
