Saturday, April 18 Wake Up and Smell the COVID is a COVID Conscious monologue performance by the anonymous arts collective Holy Erotic Propaganda Arson (HEPA). The play is a communal grief ritual for the devastating impacts COVID and Long COVID are having on the arts. It premiered as a hybrid performance in New York City and on Zoom on April 24, 2025 and was a fundraiser for artists living with Long COVID. The piece unfolds as a sequence of monologues about the journey from silence to awakening about the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. 2 pm ET/1 pm CT/12 noon MT/11am PT Saturday, April 18 Anti-Fascist Pasta Night is comedian Ron Placone's new 1-hour standup comedy special, live over Zoom! Ron will take you on a journey through politics, culture, travel, relationships, and for comic relief, some notes on how he copes with it all. A comedy show for the lefties, the weirdos, the freethinkers, the peaceniks, the dreamers...and anyone else who wants to join us! This 55-minute broadcast features the first two episodes. Having lost his mother to Covid, Ben Santos longs for a safe place to exist in a world that has gone back to normal. His life is changed with news of an unexpected inheritance from his wealthy, estranged father. With the help of his friend Josina, Ben buys a bankrupt amusement park and flips it into a public health sanctuary community for the Covid-Conscious, giving it a tongue-in-cheek name: Wayside. 6 pm ET/5 pm CT/4 pm MT/3pm PT

#IWD today is for me also the anniversary of the day I caught #Covid in 2022, followed by #LongCovid for 3 years. Mostly recovered now, I still have some lasting damage to heart and brain. #CovidIsNotOver #CovidConscious

This review ended up having a more #covidconscious focus than intended but I think that just speaks to the fact that any progressive view of the future will have to take the realities of public health seriously!
