D14: I've revised my synopsis, query letter, and outline for my story The Anger You Hold. And now I'm moving on to chapter by chapter revisions with the hopes of having it query ready by the end of the summer. I'm giving myself lots of time!🥰

Catching up on all the weekend fun:
Once I have established the plot & character growth then I focus on the ending. I always have a hint of where everything will lead but I prefer staying in the dark until I no longer need to.

I worked on my new untitled WIP a bit and started my last editing round on The Land of Undying Summer before I start querying (which is going much faster than I anticipated). 3k words already added 😂

Does anyone else plot their word-count per chapter for each round of manuscript edits? It's normal, right?

Cabin Glasswings 5/4 Episode 6 Whether you question the powerful being or make for the neighboring kingdom, the powerful being waves their hand, opening a glowing portal in front of you. “I am the Keeper of Balance,” they say. “Some see me as evil, thinking that I am taking from them when they have stolen from their peers. Your kingdom has transgressed for too long, and if their greed is not stopped now, they will become a machine for destruction upon the whole world. With their many transgressions, my power has weakened, and I can no longer stop an attack of the scale they are planning.” The Keeper of Balance looks at you, and you see the glowing of their eyes under their cloak, like coals. Their gaze burns down to your soul when they speak. “Are you loyal enough to support your kingdom in their plans, like your cabinmate betrayed you, or will you stand up for the greater good?”
Episode 6 Cont. For 0-299 words or 0-30 mins of work: Hold your hand out to the Keeper of Balance. “I have a plan, but I’m gonna need your help.” For 300+ words or more than 30 minutes of work: Jump into the portal. You’ll decide how to save the world when you emerge on the other side.
LAST EPISODE! Whether you tell the Keeper of Balance to help you or you jump into the portal, you whizz through the portal, coming to a stop in front of the neighboring queen’s throne. She gasps at the intrusion, but the powerful being waves his hands, and all the guards are frozen in place before they can attack. “Your highness,” you say, flashing your badge before filling her in on the situation. The queen looks at you in silence before shifting her gaze to the Keeper of Balance. “You would not be here under any other circumstance.” To this, the Keeper of Balance nods. The queen looks at you and tilts her head. “I sense you know how to stop this attack?” For the first time since this ordeal started, you smile. “Your highness, I worked under the previous queen. They don’t stand a chance. Are you ready to hear my plan?”

My stories come to me as I write, so I don’t usually know the ending. But for my current WIP, I knew that I wanted it to be a series, and had a good idea of how I wanted book 1 to end.

For my finished novel, I always had a vague idea of the ending, but assumed it would change (it felt kind of ridiculous). Then I reached the end... and it worked!
Fit my WIP I just knew that the MCs had to achieve their goal and be in love. Easy-peasie.

I usually have a vague idea of an end state of being, but not quite a completed ending in mind. Because I discovery write, I often figure something out along the way that fits the story that's come out. And then I'm sure I'll change it again.

My endings sort of came to me, at least for my current two projects. In fact, I think I'm more of a pantser than I thought!

Cabin Glasswings 5/3 Episode 5 Whether you take the powerful being’s hand or go to investigate yourself, you end up in front of the lights. The moment you look into them, the world spins, and suddenly, you’re standing in a black and white version of the castle, the place you called home for years before coming to camp. The queen steps into view, but the smile on her face sends a chill down your spine. You’ve never seen her look like. You follow her vision, and time seems to stand still as you see the commander in chief there, pointing at the nation just beyond the bounds of the camp you are now at. The commander in chief laughs, dark and low. “We are ready to end them all.” The queen nods in satisfaction. “That places is ours. They’ll never see it coming.” And then the vision tears away.
Episode 5Cont. For 0-299 words or 0-30 mins of work: Look at the powerful being and ask how they’re involved in this. For 300+ words or more than 30 minutes of work: Take action. You make for the neighboring kingdom. You have to warn them.
