Denji and Power, from the manga series Chainsaw Man, by a cafe's entryway door. It is an official artwork, so the colour rendering is greyscaled. Denji is grinning, teeth shark sharp, hair short, rugged and blonde, and hand thrown in a peace sign at the reader. Standing with his legs rooted on the floor in a wide spread, he's wearing a business casual uniform: black tie, black pants, old sneakers, and a white button-up tucked loose on his frame, with the sleeves pulled to his elbows. Power's composure compliments his own: she's hanging over his figure from behind him with a sleazy grin, arm slung around his shoulder with an upside down peace sign by his chest, and standing on only one foot, with the other wrapped over his thigh. makima's shaping+imposition of family unto denji is the obvious callback to point out here, but given recent developments, I believe that what is being threaded here is mainly a blood devil narrative teaser!

Seeing some debate about Denji's words and it could go a few different ways, but my initial reading was a sort of refuting of letting grief stop you from find love again. the Makima parallel is clear

About the last page, i think denji probably trusts that pochita would've eaten a devil that could come in handy in this situation, which is why he's trying to make himself puke by running

Alright so some thoughts on the new chapter (spoilers)

I'm glad that denji is finally smiling because we haven't seen him smile in so long 🥹
I felt a little uneasy at some of his words when reading the chapter but denji is someone who has an interesting way with words sometimes so i guess-

Denji saying he'll find another family if the people he cares about keep dying.
