denji was reze’s mirror in part one, and in that vein, I consider miri as denji’s own mirror, in part two. it'd be enjoyable if denji interacted with miri in the same fashion that reze — caught in her role as a weapon actress — observed and interacted with her real self through him.

Denji and Power, from the manga series Chainsaw Man, by a cafe's entryway door. It is an official artwork, so the colour rendering is greyscaled. Denji is grinning, teeth shark sharp, hair short, rugged and blonde, and hand thrown in a peace sign at the reader. Standing with his legs rooted on the floor in a wide spread, he's wearing a business casual uniform: black tie, black pants, old sneakers, and a white button-up tucked loose on his frame, with the sleeves pulled to his elbows. Power's composure compliments his own: she's hanging over his figure from behind him with a sleazy grin, arm slung around his shoulder with an upside down peace sign by his chest, and standing on only one foot, with the other wrapped over his thigh. Her design is also similar, save for the following: pant legs rolled up half-haphazardly to her knees, different pair of sneakers, and a dark-toned jacket hanging off her shoulder lazily. She has pink hair, strands thin and straight and messily hovering over one of her eyes, hiding it. Her devil horns stick out of her hair in two red points. From behind the pair, potted plants on each side of the page, with vines peeking out from the top alongside a lamp post, a cafe menu set on the ground, and a sign by the window that says "Café Chainsaw."

I love LOVE the image being painted here with the horsemen of the apocalypse. makima can control anybody she deems inferior to her, but in exchange for this, she also dooms herself into never being able to find a true equal to connect and resonate with, separated from all.

love this particular makiyoru contrast flavour that canon offers me: makima, clumsily attempting to emulate and mimic humanity, discarding her nature as an untouchable devil and her place among her sisters to be apart of humans and create her own family within their structures.

re: crow’s thread dissecting the csm inner covers, there's a specific string of thought that I want to share here. I do find it interesting how, throughout both part one and part two, makima and asa are the only characters who’s gaze is fixed with intent directly at us viewers.
