At #SierraAtTahoe at the end of “Lot A” there used to be a trail through the trees to the #WestBowl. Due to the #CaldorFire the trail isn’t necessary anymore.😞🫤
#SierraAtTahoe was my local hill when I used to live on the west slope of the #SierraNevadaMountains near #SouthLakeTahoe. The effects of the #CaldorFire in 2021 will take over a century to repair. These are pic’s from the #WestBowl that got ravaged.☹️

Seeing the completed dozer line by the house my husband is almost finished building near the Hwy 50 end of NUT warms my heart, as does the cold black containment line in Christmas Valley and along Pioneer Trail. That represents hard work by a lot of men and women ❤️ #CaldorFire

When I drove up 50 and saw the smoke shrouded lake, I burst into tears. When I got to Heavenly Village and saw the 👩🚒 👨🚒 and 🚒 on both sides of the street, I yelled thank you and burst into tears. When I saw the “welcome home” signs, burst into tears. #CaldorFire #Tahome ❤️

Well crap - our daughter is in Brooklyn with a flash flood emergency due to #HurricaneIda remnants and we’re evacuated from our home in South Lake Tahoe because of the #CaldorFire.
Thank you @AliVelshi for finally mentioning the #CaldorFire. A fire that has caused over 53,000 people to evacuate is newsworthy. South Lake Tahoe & El Dorado county aren’t just the playground of the Bay Area. We are real people and this is our home.
To all of my wonderful #BCSM friends: had to evacuate from our house in South Lake Tahoe, CA - the entire town did d/t #CaldorFire. We are lucky - we own a rental property in NV and the tenants had just moved out on Friday. We are safe. So far none of our properties have burned🤞🏻

Today, with the #Caldorfire raging over that same area, 14 years later, I went back and looked. It's just... mind boggling how small it is, compared to what's going on out there now.
My entire community is under either a mandatory evacuation or an evaluation warning due to the #CaldorFire. I love you South Lake Tahoe, and hope we have a home to return to and that the firefighters and support staff stay safe. 💔
