Cover of the book by Sir Winston Churchill called The Gathering Storm. This details the period between the first and second world wars, the pressures that arose and the missed opportunities to stop world war 2 before it started. Published in 1948.
All of this has happened before.
Churchill documented the escalations, miscues and missed opportunities to stop the madness that ultimately led to WW2.
And yet here we are again.

🗓️1944/11/24: #HMCSShawinigan was torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine U-1228 in the Cabot Strait while on an independent anti-submarine patrol near Port aux Basques, Newfoundland. All ninety-one officers and crew on board were lost.
