A graphite-outlined coloured pencil drawing on paper of two northern cardinals (C. cardinalis). The male (left) is a bird with a bright red crest, head, and neck, with a black mask-like section surrounding the orangish-red beak, a red underbelly, and a greyish-red tail, back, and wings. The female (right) has spots of red scattered around her crest, neck, and tail, but is otherwise mostly a pale greyish-brown with orangey tones. The female has a smaller area of black and grey around her beak.
Guess who's finally baaaack! Got a sudden uptick in energy and sped through the colouring process for this one - hope my granddad likes it ๐
