Caroline County Courthouse Campus Added to United States Civil Rights Trail Caroline County officials announced on Feb. 14, 2025, that the historic Caroline County Courthouse campus — including courtroom, former sheriff's office, old jail and a historic marker — has been added to the United States Civil Rights Trail; officials, the Loving family and state and federal representatives attended the dedication.

Caroline County's historic courthouse campus has officially joined the United States Civil Rights Trail, honoring the legacy of the Loving family and their monumental fight for marriage equality.
