#OTD 26th February 1935 Robert Watson Watt and Arnold Wilkins conducted the ‘Daventry Experiment’.

On this day Radar was born, leading to the development of the #ChainHome radar network and the Dowding Command & Control System.

Watson-Watt went on: “No one seeing the demonstration could fail to be hopeful of detecting the existence and approximate bearing of aircraft at ranges far in excess of those given by the 200ft sound mirrors”.
