I saw some inspiring work going on at Birchwood Pupil Referral Unit in #Cheriton last week. Birchwood takes children who are struggling in their mainstream secondary school and gives them the support and skills they need to go back into school or enter the world of work.

It was great to be out on the doorstep in #Cheriton #Folkestone yesterday with @tonyvaughanmp.bsky.social, @younglabourse.bsky.social and our great councillors listening to residents about their local issues. From the state of local roads, debris left behind from weekly bin collection and littering.

#OTD 1934 St. Joseph's Catholic Church at #Cheriton, was formally opened by the Bishop of Southwark (Dr. Peter Amigo).
Costing £5,205, it can accommodate 400. It was designed by Canterbury architect Mr. Hicks who has had considerable experience in the construction of churches.
