Cyclists who kill pedestrians could be jailed for life under new law in England and Wales Reckless cycling is currently prosecuted under legislation from the 1860s, with a maximum two-year jail sentence

#RecklessCycling is not cycling. Same as #recklessdriving is not driving. And killing people by either is manslaughter.

Active Travel England have data from a study of 100+ schemes that shows that 'old fashioned schemes' (i.e ones comprising of just paint) will 'kill 10% more people than just doing nothing and get no uptake in cycling rates' whereas LTN1/20 scheme will get 'between 20-60% more uptake and halve the number of deaths' - 'that's pretty powerful stuff'
