My average colemak dh speed was 75 wpm with 95+ accuracy. Really a fantastic layout.

After started using the Colemak keyboard as my main layout, I started thinking about replacing my vim-like key bindings with emacs ones. Unfortunately the standard vim key bindings are too querty specific. I don't have anything against vi (I still use vis).

vishalkrkamat | Why I Switched to Colemak-DH I had no problem with the QWERTY layout — none. I could touch type without any issue at an average speed of 60–75 WPM with above 95% accuracy.

switched to #colemak a couple months ago and I don't recommend it. Too much work to switch and then you'll need to remap keybinds in programs. Then there will still be places in qwerty, another device etc.

This is actually cool, a hand-held keyboard. Unfortunately for me, it's QWERTY. When it comes to hand-held / virtual keyboards, my muscle memory is #Colemak.

- #colemak feels amazing, but the step was to high. Rebuilding muscle memory for writing, coding and vim motions felt frustrating and counter productive.
- Switched back to #qwerty last week, and already at 70% of my regular typing speed.

画面写真。 件名 JIS キーボードでの Colemak キー配列の不具合 コメント システムに組み込まれている Colemak キー配列を JIS キーボードで使用すると、「shift + o」で「+」が入力されます。これは「O」であるべきです。また、「shift + ;」が「:」になっていますが、JIS キーボードでは「+」が入力されるべきです。 つまり現状は「O」が打てず、「:」が二箇所にある状態です。（caps lock を使えば「O」は一応得られますが…。）

macOS に組み込まれている Colemak キー配列は、JIS‐キーボードで使うと一部バグってるので、Apple に報告しました。多分 動作確認を US‐キーボードでしかしてなくて、利用する人も大抵 US だから気付かれないんだろう。

どれぐらい早く対応されるのかな。反映されるのは macOS 15 以降だけかな…。

折角いつものキー配列が使えないので、Colemak を使ってみてる。主に英語向けに最適化された配列だから、日本語のローマ字入力に最適でないのは知ってる（QWERTY よりマシなのは当然として）。ぢゃあ実際どの辺に不満を感じるか。今のところ、「kinkyou」みたいな場合の運指が惜しい感じ。
