Colette was born as the youngest daughter of Duke Caldwell and while most Werlytian noble families were dismantled by the Garlean invasion, the Caldwells assisted them and thus secured a place in occupied Werlyt.
This enabled Colette a privileged upbringing, full Garlean citizenship.

When time takes its toll, assuming battle doesn't first, Colette would like to be buried next to her brother Theodor's grave.
Rather than the Caldwell family cementary his grave is located on the outskirts of Werlyt, the city, beneath the shade of a couple of ash trees.
