Having Both Adenomas and Serrated Polyps Significantly Increases Risk of Advanced Colorectal Neoplasia Researchers from Flinders University and Flinders Medical Centre conducted a large-scale review of over 8,400 colonoscopy records to investigate the cancer risks associated with common bowel polyps. In Australia, where bowel cancer is a leading cause of cancer deaths, these results highlight the value of programs like the National Bowel Cancer Screening Program and tailored follow-up schedules to mitigate risks from concurrent cancer pathways.
