Its #ColoristAppreciation day! So i am going to share a bunch of posts from my favourite colourists, some starter packs and I'll do a seperate thread with some shout outs to people who have a huge help to me and influenced how I work.. but first here a few pages I am most proud of!

A page from Felix the Cat #4! Lineart by Tracy Yardley! Colours by Rik! I like the last panel especially, and the Pharaoh was fun to colour.

Sonic the Hedgehog #61, lineart by Adam Bryce Thomas, colours by Rik! Featuring Amy Rose, Rouge the Bat, Blaze the Cat, Miles Tails Prower and some blue guy. I like how the spindashes came out.

Sonic the Hedgehog Annual 2024! Lineart by Thomas Rothsliberger and colours by Rik! Lots of fun details in here. The cat guy look familiar...pawsibly? Also the bed colours and the stress ball were intentional, to suggest they can't really escape the shadow of Sonic and Tails.

There were some fun bits in this, the light reflecting off Surge's face in panel 1, the glowy fist in 3, the sparks in 4-5 slowly dying out. They might be hard to see at print resolution but at full size there's a lot of detail there! I might have to post a full size panel one of these days.

Since it's #ColoristAppreciation Day I figured I would take a post to appreciate the times I've been allowed to be a colourist (so far!) I love colouring stuff and hope they let me do more!

I don't think of comics in color. When I have to color my own work, it takes significantly longer than all other stages combined.

A shadowed horror host stands amongst his cabinet of curiosities. Titov's colors are bright and saturated, giving a tone of pulp fun.

Titov brings in punches of bright reds, yellows, and magenta to emphasize the reactions of our mad scientist trio to the suitcase full of body parts.

often regarded as the menial work of a colorist, Flatting is when you isolate all the unique pieces of color something will have with separate flat colors
