I will remember Image Restoration Theory the most from this course. Now every time I see a crisis unfolding online, I closely watch how people respond and what strategies they use. You were right - once we know about it, we see it everywhere! #Crisis11 #COM385 @ssfrigerio.bsky.social
@ssfrigerio.bsky.social This is a wall found in NYC that contains images of how people remembered the sky looking on 9/11. I thought this example was interesting because it really depicts what everyone remembers from that devastating day. #Crisis10 #COM385
The most important concept I learned was Benoit’s repair strategies. Every company will have some sort of “crisis” to manage big or small and if I apply these strategies, I can help whatever company I may work for in a time of instability. #Crisis11 #com385 @ssfrigerio.bsky.social
@ssfrigerio.bsky.social #COM385 #crisis11 The most interesting concept to me was the simple yet crucial 'give people something to do'. I feel it is something that will be embedded in me forever. I realized I learned how this tactic is a game changer and can now point out when companies/people use it
The crisis topic I found most interesting was the lesson on emotions. Knowing your 4 public’s and their level of anger will allow you to meet them where they are at. No matter my career, if there’s anger I’ll know to give them something to do! #COM385 #Crisis11 @ssfrigerio.bsky.social
It's interesting to know each crisis measure in SCCT. When crises arise in the media I have awareness of how these issues are managed and the processes for restoration. This understanding will serve me professionally by helping tackle issues correctly. #Crisis11 #Com385 @ssfrigerio.bsky.social
@ssfrigerio.bsky.social The most interesting concept we learned this semester was the Image Restoration Theory, because it's so cool how I can see all of the tactics now in every crisis that arises. If I end up in PR I will use the notes from this day dearly. #crisis11 #com385
@ssfrigerio.bsky.social My favorite topic from this semester was learning how to properly deal with the media. I really enjoyed the mock press conferences we held in class. I think this will be beneficial to me in the future because being media trained is a great value to have. #COM385 #Crisis11
The concept that stuck with me most this semester was the SCCT. It taught me how every crisis needs a different response based on how serious the situation is. This will help me handle real-world PR crises with more strategy and empathy.

#Crisis10 #Com385 @ssfrigerio.bsky.social The 9/11 Memorial Museum let's visitors in NYC remember and honor those who tragically lost their lives in the attacks on 9/11. This monument allows community to engage in both the somber tragedy and brave resilience of the city and emergency services.
@ssfrigerio.bsky.social #crisis10 #COM385 This is the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery, which honors all US service members who have passed without being identified. It memorializes those who deserve this tribute with a silent ceremony consisting of changing of the guards.
@ssfrigerio.bsky.social One of the memorials that stands out to me the most is the Normandy American Cemetery. The memorial has over 9,000 marble cross headstones. It's located overlooking Omaha beach where U.S soldiers lost their lives during the landing of D-Day. #Crisis10 #COM385
As someone who lives in New York, the 9/11 Memorial & Museum stood out to me the most. Even though the attack happened over twenty years ago, people still keep the memory alive by sharing tributes, naming the victims, and taking moments of silence.
#Crisis10 #COM385 @ssfrigerio.bsky.social
People came together to honor veterans and support their communities in need. They wanted to make sure communities in need had access to meals by having food drives as well as donations. This is a community relationship. #Crisis9 #COM385 @ssfrigerio.bsky.social bsky.app/profile/wade...
If I were conducting a hurricane preparedness campaign, the most important piece of data I would collect is the percentage of people who improved how prepared they are. People would need to have somewhere safe to stay as well as everything needed to survive #Crisis8 #Com385 @ssfrigerio.bsky.social
After the NC flooding, communities planned and communicated ways for those who still had gas and power to cook meals and provide transportation to those displaced from their homes. Those who had resources shared what they had. #Crisis9 #COM385 @ssfrigerio.bsky.social abcnews.go.com/living/story...
@ssfrigerio.bsky.social Following Boston Marathon Bombing, community came together using the phrase "Boston Strong" using community relationship to transition from tragedy to a long term resilience. This is a short article remembering the resilience. bostonmoms.com/life-in-bost... #Crisis9 #COM385
@ssfrigerio.bsky.social This link represents a communication system and resource. It's a platform where users can report incidents, find shelters, donate, volunteer, and stay updated with announcements. This helps build resilience after hurricane Melissa. #Crisis9 #COM385

This is an example of community relationship because the communication came from the community to help strengthen trust, work together, and support each other during the crisis.

if I were directing a hurricane preparedness campaign, the metric I would use to determine effectiveness would be the number of followers gained or sign ups gained to the info page. This metric shows the quantitive data of the reach and awareness the campaign had. #Crisis8 #Com385
#Crisis8 #COM385 @ssfrigerio.bsky.social In order to determine success of the campaign, I would request a survey to collect the data of those who created evacuation plans and kits. The number of respondents would correspond with the amount of people receiving and utilizing the campaigns message.
@ssfrigerio.bsky.social I would measure the increase in purchases of emergency supply kits and things like water, batteries, and flashlights. This works because it shows people are taking action by buying key necessities to prepare for the hurricane. #Crisis8 #COM385
I would collect data through the form of a survey on how many people developed a hurricane evacuation plan. This would prove if people knew what to do if a hurricane was tracking towards their area and if they listened to the campaign. @ssfrigerio.bsky.social #Crisis8 #COM385
@ssfrigerio.bsky.social #COM385 #Crisis8 I would want to collect the data of how many people have a hurricane evacuation plan set in place to know how prepared they are on being able to leave if needed, where they would have an exact spot they have accessible that is safe with survival resources.
The most important data I'd collect to evaluate our hurricane preparedness campaign would be how many people created an emergency kit and evacuation plans. This helps us understand if our campaign truly motivates people to take action before the next storm. #Crisis8 #COM385 @ssfrigerio.bsky.social
If I was Amazon, in this case I think I would “fight fire with fire” by responding in a humorous way, but also still addresses concerns. Ex. “Not yet first we’re gonna try putting it in rice. Thanks for being patient we’ll get back to you when things are up and working again.” #Crisis7 #com385
@ssfrigerio.bsky.social #crisis7 #COM385
KFC makes a lighthearted AD to address the public outrage of their UK stores running out of chicken. If I was a company in this situation, I would handle it similarly. Providing the public with a laugh when they've been inconvenienced and disappointed.
#Crisis7 #COM385 @ssfrigerio.bsky.social California Pizza Kitchen sends only cheese to customer who ordered mac n cheese. The response to this was humorous offering 50% off of mac and cheese. My response: Our mac took a personal day. We respect her decision and support her return when she’s ready🧀 😌
