On 27 November, the EU Parliament confirmed the new Commission with 370 votes in favour and 282 against. A majority of EPP, S&D, RE and Greens as well as many ECR members voted in favour.
This clears the way for the new Commission to take office on 1 December.

The proposal of Olivér #Várhelyi as commissioner for "Health and Animal Welfare" looks suspiciously like an invitation to the European Parliament to approve him on the condition that the "health" part is removed from his portfolio.

🇧🇬 Von der Leyen picks Ekaterina #Zaharieva (GERB/EPP) as #Bulgaria 's commissioner.
Zaharieva is the 14th EPP member, the 11th woman, and the only one that was part of a gender-mixed duo.
However, a scandal from 2018 could still cause her problems in the EP.
