#ThisDayInHistory in 1994 saw the #RepublicanRevolution led by #NewtGingrich, in which the #GOP picked up 54 House seats and 8 Senate seats. Republicans had not taken the House since the 1952. #ContractWithAmerica is often credited but Democrats' shift rightward is also to blame.
