New #coolstick finished! This one is Aeon, Master of Time. It has a chevron amethyst in the top and I hand painted the purple on the middle part. This one is very sword-like and sci-fi inspired. Once again I am very pleased how this turned out ^_^

New coolstick finished! This one is named "Sha" after the animal symbolic of the Egyptian God Set. It's a green and black with red "mouths" that formed naturally in the wood. I also carved the gem socket myself. I'm very pleased with how this one come out. #stick #coolstick #staff #wizardsky

A 3-centimeter diameter stick showing a section of about 6 centimeters going diagonally from lower left to upper right. The top left of the stick is festooned with a ruffled, pale sea green bit of what I think is black stone flower lichen (could be remembering that wrong). The left and right sides of the stick are tiled thick with a rim disc lichen with an orange center and white rims. Just under the ruffled lichen, and down the center of the stick is a swatch of darker lichen with black node-like growths mingling with spots of yellowy-green lichen that might be candleflame lichen. There are other bits of yellow and crusty, bumpy white lichen around the stick also. So much happening on this stick! Brings me joy.

Cut down a giant weed tree and the bark came easily off to create the beautiful silky smooth walking stick.

This fallen oak stick is covered in white lichen that has the creamsicle-orange discs with white rims. Bits have fallen off and some dark brown bark is visible. It’s lying on top of another fallen stick that also has some light, sea green oakmoss sticking out the sides. They’re all lying on top of a mossy patch of ground.

Closeup of a whitened stick that fell out of a tree. There is a dark gray, fan-gilled fungus growing right in the middle of the picture. iNaturalist suggests this is a smoked oysterling fungus. It’s probably only about 6 millimeters across and a smaller one is growing to its left, a little blurred out with another 2 discs of a light orange fungus. A bigger specimen of this light orange fungus with a fringey white edge grows to the upper right. iNaturalist suggests that this is Stereum ochraceoflavum fungus, a pathogen of broadleaf trees. Some shield and oakmoss lichen play in the shade off to the bottom right.
