Stunning image of the spiral galaxy NGC 1097 in the Fornax constellation. Its vibrant blue arms, punctuated by pink star-forming regions, are beautifully contrasted against the black backdrop of space. Faint jets extend from the galaxy's core, possibly remnants of a galactic merger. A smaller companion galaxy is visible nearby.
