Three ancient human relatives once shared the same valley. Did they meet—and compete? The world’s greatest concentration of ancestral human remains, in South Africa, poses a 2-million-year-old riddle of coexistence

Three early hominin species running around South Africa at the same time is super interesting but also makes it tough on those of us studying the anatomy below the head. It's hard to know what belongs to whom in those mixed assemblages in the #CradleofHumankind. #paleoanthropology 🧪

A skull sits upon a full-size wooden yellow skeleton which stands on a round black platform. A small sign is in front of the skeleton:
Australopithecus sediba

‘Karabo’ (MH1), a juvenile male, was discovered at Malapa in 2008. This species lived about 1.98 million years ago. Australopithecus sediba had smaller premolars and molars compared to other Australopithecus, but shared a similar, small brain size compared to humans.

We're making an animation based on the comic we made. This is Buhle (the character) and her voice actor Neli Sosibo.
Buhle goes on a school excursion to the #CradleofHumankind , she goes off path, falls into a cavern and unleashes the power to turn scientists into SuperScientists. It will be cool
