#CrayWeek? Y'all crushed it.
We've been a little quiet here at #CrayWeek Central (crawdads only have so many legs to multitask with, after all), so we're EXTRA grateful for everyone who's using the hashtag to share their passion for these clacky crustaceans! Keep spreadin' the cray-ffection!
We will never stop loving this: #CrayWeek
Crayfish... you love 'em, you catch 'em, you research 'em, you take photos of 'em, you munch 'em.
Here's a recipe round-up to help make your next crawdad boil a finger-licking success!

When waves are cray-cray, stay away-way!
Instead of swimming, go for a walk, build a sand castle, practice your beach volleyball skills, or fly a colorful kite from the safety of the sand.

It's #CrayWeek, y'all!
We're mud-buggin' out over these cool crustaceans, like the Michigan native Devil Crayfish 😈😎
Missed #crayweek last week while on vacation, but we’ve been seeing lots and lots of #crayfish in our #fishpuke collections this year! Largemouth Bass rely heavily on them as prey in many systems, but we’ve seen quite a few in #walleye diets as well in one lake #fishsci
A huge, claw-clacking 🦞THANK YOU🦞 to everyone who joined in the #CrayWeek fun this year! We'll be back next year, same time, same place.
In the meantime, let's cap off the festivities with this toe-tappin' anthem, "The Crawdad Song": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5o6uvuFnjM

(4/7) Red Swamp Crayfish are hungry and don't like sharing their food. So they can outcompete native crawdads and other critters trying to eat snails, fish, amphibians, and plants in their territory.

(3/7) Whether they were released here accidentally ("Oops, spilled the bait bucket!") or intentionally ("I'll just empty out my aquarium into this stream right here"), multiple populations of invasive Red Swamp Crayfish are now established in Michigan.

(2/7) These bright red mini-lobsters are beloved fodder for crawfish boils, classroom tanks, fish bait, and home aquaria. So they've been a tempting product to import to Michigan...

(1/7) Let's take a peek at one of Michigan's notorious invasive cray-nemies, the Red Swamp Crayfish. This lil beastie is native to Louisiana, Texas, and parts of the Gulf Coast.

“The bold adventurer succeeds the best:” Research suggests that invasive crayfish succeed by taking Ovid’s advice to heart. Or they would be if, you know, they could read Ovid.

We hate to pick favorites, but this might be the best cathedral in the world? Certainly it should win in the “best carved crayfish” category: https://buff.ly/3j04iWG

We're kicking off #CrayWeek with this wacky story:
When a horde of mutants takes over a Belgian cemetery, you may not immediately think, “Ah, yes, a crayfish invasion.” But here we are: globalnews.ca/news/7422517/marbled-cra...
Click clack, y’all -- #CrayWeek is here!
This week is for celebrating the wide, wacky world of comely crayfish and marvelous mudbugs -- and educating about the hazards of letting these critters get established where they aren’t meant to be.
Bring it on!
