It’s tall, probably 15 feet tall in some places there’s a lot of plans around this area. I try to plant very dense and close together. I don’t really like to weed and this is how natural plants. All the plants overlapping

Tall Oregon Grape in bloom now in my my north side, front yard. The one plant from years ago sends underground runners and now takes up a colony of 20 feet area, but it still allows other native plants to coexist in the same space. #NativePlants

My signs one says plants for Birds the plant plants in his yard provide habitat for birds and then might leave the leaf sign and here are my native plants and behind this area is where my hidden birdbath is

OK, some more flowering currants. There’s also some little bulbs in there which are probably weeds. This area has some dormant plant still mini wild roses. I try to make a perimeter of thorny plants to keep predators out and there’s some elderberry that’s just leaving out on the left.

Spring is finally starting in my shady bird habitat.
Mostly Red Flowering Currants and Osoberry right now. Other plants are leafing out, but not blooming yet. Today we are looking for left to right near my public sidewalk #CreateBirdHabitat

The birds are starting to return to my side yard as plants leaf-out; just not enough cover in my side yard -too little mature evergreen plants: The balance is off. I think Pacific Northwest birds prefer 70 to 80% evergreens plants for cover during winter. (Like my front yard) #CreateBirdHabitat

Another clip of Hermit Thrush today…at the small pond. Deadwood and leaf-litter is never moved or removed from my habitat unless it is an invasive plant that popped up or I rake leaves just off the sidewalk so people don’t slip. The easiest way to #CreateBirdHabitat resist the urge to tidy. #Birds

In the leaf litter underneath the native plants there is a Song-sparrow who gets on camera and then there is a Spotted Towhee who gets on camera also

The greatest compliment when I was leaving my house today two senior birdwatchers were standing out on the public sidewalk with binoculars. “I love your yard” “I love that I can stand here and see birds. We don’t drive anymore so we don’t get to parks very often.” 😊

Standing in the street looking at my front yard through the old blooms of Native Nine Bark. Just past the plant is the public sidewalk behind that is the majority of my birdbaths and cameras There is a blue sign that says the plants grown here feed birds. There is also a wood arbor to the right. It’s a yard filled with native plants no lawn. The setting is Autumn this evening. My house isn’t really visible for the plants block the view, a piece of roof is visible.

My lot is an urban lot, 5000 sq feet in the city of Seattle. My front yard where my cameras are is about 1500 square feet.
You don’t need a big yard, you just need to make every cm or inch count, by planting dense for #Birds #CreateBirdHabitat
