Last weekend confirmed that @cubecon.org #CubeCon2025 is one of my favorite events of the year!
It has:
- 3-4-day competitive main event w/ 90+ cubes
- Day 0 launch event
- Open play throughout
- Bar cube nights
- Panels
- Cube-E-Oke
- Many more events!

I followed along as I want to build a NISSA CUBE! I have some ideas but what ideas do you all have on how you would approach building a Nissa Cube?

I'm back from #mtg #cubecon2025 and have thoughts to share here!
First, especially in light of discussions abt the future of Magic, I realized one thing.
Cube is punk.
Cube is about community. It's about creating your own world. It's about pushing past the expectations and limitations.
Had an incredible #CubeCon2025! Drafted 8 cubes (and played a Jurassic Park themed Wizard's Tower), barely squeaked into top 128, barely squeaked into top 64, and then got to play my dogshit draft poorly on stream to exit. 😅 Gonna post lists and brief draft reports for posterity as I can!

For the last day of @cubecon.org #CubeCon2025 I finally got to draft the awesome Tolsimir Selesnya cube (cubecobra.com/cube/overvie... ) which I had been wanting to draft all weekend! It was even more fun than I expected and I drafted this great Elves deck and went 3-0!
My top 64 draft of #cubecon2025! Eliminated last year’s champion in the first round of A Study in Harmony but lost the next one. Drafted a pretty mid bant enchantress deck that had 4-5 cards off theme due to lack of playables. Top 32 is still great, what a fun week! #mtgcube

I am now home from #Cubecon2025, having taken the morning to do one last draft, but this time: Mystery Booster 2!! And not only that, this little golgari pile of grind and value got me to my only 3-0 of the weekend! Truly felt like as the con went on I just got better and better at magic.

Slightly late CubeCon main event day 2 post. 2-1 in TLDR and 3-0 in El Classico. Finished off the day 3-0 in my top 128 draft of Six Drops where I picked depletion lands over any other card in the draft. #mtgcube #CubeCon2025
I made Top 128 (out of over 400 players!) at @cubecon.org #CubeCon2025 ! For the Top 128 draft I did the “Everywhere cube” & you get as many Everywhere lands as you want so you have access to all the land types and colors. I went 5c Legends / good stuff with a Nissa.
I drafted a VERY cool deck for “The CoCo Cube” ( cubecobra.com/cube/overvie... which gives everyone 3 Collected Companies ) at @cubecon.org #CubeCon2025 that had a multi-infinite combo with Lonis, Rosie Cotton, and Peregrin Took that I assembled against my dad @adamfischer71.bsky.social !
Lost a super close finals in the 6 drop cube to finish 2-1, but good enough for the final day. I cast Moltensteel Hellkite on turn 4, put all my life into it on t5 and then toil//troubled my opponent for lethal. #cubecon2025 #wotcstaff

The best thing about attending CubeCon and jamming Cube are the random cards you didn't know existed but now want to play in other formats - Gemcutter Buccaneer is one of those.

Boros Aggro 6-Color Calamity Cube 2-1 deck
2-1’d with a loss in the finals in the 6 Color Calamity Cube. Had a *blast* in this environment that treats colorless as a 6th color in the pie. This cube rocked, it was a nice Legacy Power environment with a lot of unique includes. Would love to draft this one again!

#Cubecon2025 Final draft of the main event, drafting A Brooding Saga, a cube all about Sagas! Really cool environment. I ended up on Azorius again, this time with a token sub theme and a lot of recursion. Deck did the thing, but ended 1-1-1 due to grindy games.

#Cubecon2025 Main event draft 3: The Alternate History Powered Cube! I went 2-1 with Azorious control/super friends, only losing to the person who went 3-0 with the full lotus, breach, freeze combo.
Still not sure I made the right choice between sol ring or recall P3P1.

3-0 the Ravnica/Time Spiral Standard cube with UGw Pickles Glare. Never got to execute the Brine lock, but did get to make 12 saprolings with Vesuvan+Thelonite. So much fun, highly recommend this cube. #cubecon2025 #wotcstaff
