Amphotericin B has activity against most species. Aggressive therapy for disseminated infection. Other antifungals with good coverage against most #Curvularia species include Voriconazole, Itraconazole, and Posaconazole.

#Curvularia distinguished from Bipolaris & Drechslera by its conidial septa lying from one side wall to other (not distoseptate). Also, unlike Bipolaris, conidium of Curvularia is usually curved, has enlarged, darker central cell, thinner cell wall & narrower septations b/w cells
#Curvularia is a dematiaceous fungus found ubiquitously in soil. Curvularia & other dematiaceous fungi are seen in tissue sections as 2- to 6-μm-wide hyphal forms which differ greatly in length and may be fragmented. Vesicular swellings of hyphae producing bizarre hyphal outlines
#Curvularia endocarditis/mycotic aneurysm: rare only few cases 1) aortic root involvement,2) occurring within 6 mo post aortic valve replacement, 3) didnt originate from cutaneous or sinopulmonary source, 4)immunocompetent host Ref t.co/wZ1EA19tPE

Cns #curvularia main postulated mechanism of disease is hematogenous spread from a possible subclinical pulmonary focus; direct extension from associated sinus disease is another possibility
In CNS #phaeohyphomycosis most frequent dematiaceous fungi species isolated is Cladophialophora bantiana but occasionally CNS phaeohyphomycosis due to #Curvularia spp. have been reported
