At another garden, my previous #Danae began to fruit at eight years and two years later seedlings were scattered around its vicinity. Zone 7 thru 9. Tolerates dense shade, drought, heat and humidity.

There seem to be no references to edibility of #Danae berries but I did chew one without swallowing. The half inch fruit was sweet and chewy like a well ripened persimmon. The hard seed itself might be poisonous.
