From 2016 to 2017, the indicators (ranging on a scale from 0 to 1, with 1 being high quality) decreased between 0.01 and 0.09 points. From 2024 to 2025, the liberal democracy index decreased by 0.18 points, legislative constraints by 0.25, equity before the law by 0.11, and judicial constraints by 0.06.

This chart shows how many species are considered threatened in #Canada, broken down by major taxonomic group (mammals, birds, amphibians, plants, etc.), according to the IUCN Red List.
