Building the white up was troublesome as I tended to overspray it frequently. Had to sand it back and paint again. Alignment of the stripes round the fuselage has been quite tricky.
I think it's turned out great so far.

So I've spent that last little bit fixing some errors in my painting of the invasion stripes! I ended up stripping the fuselage bands and repainting them. Primer first then build the white up. After I'd rescribed some panel lines.

Still going on the Tamiya Spitfire. Progress has stalled with holidays and motivation. I've touched up the forward fuselage where I missed some masking during painting.That's the ocean grey done. Let it cure for 24 hrs and I can do the dark green patches.

Ocean Grey on the Spitfire, I've been spraying a lot of Tamiya paint thinned with X-20A and it sprays so beautifully. If only their paint range was better and didn't often involve mixes.

Change of plan. I’ve scrapped the photo-etch because it’s too fiddly and the rockets were positioned too low on the rails. Instead I’ve 3D printed the rockets and rails as one part. More difficult to paint but they look much better 👍😊

The spitfire is primed and ready for painting. Hoping to get it finished before the 80th Anniversary of Operation Windsor (capturing Carpiquet) as part of the liberation of Caen on the 19th July.

Finally got primer on the 1:48 Typhoon. I’ll let it dry overnight then mask for the invasion stripes and yellow leading edges. I’ve also put the correct, later type cannons on the 1:24 Seafire. They need blending in, then I can carry on with painting.

Got the Tamiya Spitfire Mk Vb primed last night with Mr Aqueous Surfacer (it is 😍 as a primer) I've still got a few tiny seams I need to fill in and sand out. But she's getting there. I've been filling micro seams with super glue and it's excellent so far!

Did actually complete my Sherman tanks for #DDAY80GB! A little small next to everyone else's projects, but it was my first group build and I'm glad I went unambitious, given the way I hurt my back in the middle. A fun experience, all told
