A view over a marshy or swampy area on Jekyll Island Georgia. The foreground has numerous rushes and other semiaquatic plants, while the background shows numerous trees including pins, oaks and junipers. Some trees are dead.
A male green anole resting under a juniper branch. It is a bit mottled with brown and has a dark spot behind the neck and above the front leg. It also has a short crest on its neck. In the top of the photo you can see the tail of the other male behind the branch.
Spring in the South: among the wetland trees, 2 male green #anoles see who's toughest by bobbing their head & showing their throat fan (unfortunately could not photograph). Never seen them w/such a prominent crest & dark markings.
