I managed to reduce my 60 TB Data hoard to 18 TB by trimming unused archived raw footage and re-encoding to prores. The copying to external HDDS is amost done, all that's left now is WIPE the NAS, change it from RAIDZ1 to RAIDZ2 and copy it all back to the NAS. Almost done! #Datahoarder #Homelab

Tak som práve na svojej NASke so 4x12TB diskami spustil scrubbing a som fakt zvedavý, ako dlho to bude trvať (a tak nejak dúfam, že sa to stihne do Silvestra, kedy je naplánovaný extended S.M.A.R.T. test).

Is it bad to have a slightly older drive in a RAID 5 array? submitted by HiddenLayer555 to datahoarder 7 points | 2 comments I currently have a single Seagate Ironwolf Pro hard drive which I’ve been running in my NAS for about two years. I kind of want to buy two more drives of the same make and capacity and make it a software RAID 5 array. Is that a good idea? Do raid arrays need to have drives of the same age?
