The path through the forest is still wet from last night’s rain, the wind bringing tiny showers down from the leaves each time it passes. Clouds remain, but the world feels rich and green, as if the hustle and bustle of the day has been gently wiped away by the muted sun. My wife’s hand is warm in mine and we walk in silence, all quiet save for the occasional patter of those remaining raindrops and the serenade of birds.
