The distant throb of the dancefloor is muted by slow and steady polyrhythms as piano runs cascade off the walls like falling rain. The air is thick with smoke, the scents of clove and cigar interweaving in the dim light cast by the soffits above. The exhaustion brought on by hours of dancing melts away, drawn out by the stately beats and measured pace, the sounds here a deep breath before diving back into the water.
