Elected representative government is not democracy. It was designed for rule by a small elite.

Rule by the people requires deliberative & participatory gov, where the people can decide.

It’s a shame that the US #DemocracySummit largely replicates the systemic problems of our democracy, with elite government officials on the inside and everyone else on the sidelines, limited to making demands or protesting. That said, this is a good demand.
