#DesalinationPlants produce massive volumes of #hypersalinebrine, #heavymetals, and #chemicaladditives like chlorine and antiscalants. This #toxicbyproduct is mostly discharged back into the ocean, where it sinks, depleting oxygen and harming marine ecosystems.
