This helps, I can make a note for my #Watchlist for future reference @r4l.lucidillusions.in

I adore IKKIS. What a beautiful final film from the legend Dharmendra. My review of the anti-war drama, streaming on Prime: accessbollywood.net/2026/04/01/m... #DesiWatch
Project Hail Mary was an instant fave, and I caught up with some older movies in March.

I think even shola aur shabnam, (both of these were movies I liked when I was a kid, but I don't think it holds well -- but definitely beats Raja Babu Y_Y and Haseena Maan Jaayegi, i really feel bad that you put yourself through that.
#DesiWatch
both of those are rough watch indeed, just started the episode, and 3 min in I had to come and be like, I feel bad for both of you (RB was not so great even as a kid)
A lot of early Govinda movies, and a few with Dhawan are good, but these...

At the rate 2026 is going, I don't even want to plan to see Kathanar: The Wild Sorcerer. I kind of liked the trailer, but I've got some misgivings, pretty nicely summed up with what Donald Sebastian has to say, esp. about how delayed the release has been. #DesiWatch www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1sm...
On the other hand Ray definitely created work which feels more inviting...
Oh and apart from Mother India, you could add more of Dutt's filmography from back then as well. 😅
#DesiWatch
I also feel Meghe Dhaka Tara puts the lens on a very specific world which might not be easy to relate to outsiders (this includes non-bengali audiences in general)
Btw Titash Ekti Nadir Naam (is one of his most self indulgent work and on my watchlist)
#DesiWatch
I feel Ghatak's work was very self indulgent which makes it a great watch, but I can kinda imagine why it might feel very distant for many (or disliked)
I still need to watch a lot of his work.

At about 28:20 I am struck by the most enjoyable idea I've ever had in my life, and it leads to a new film idea: the story of 70s vamps forming a union called Socialism and Sequins.
THANK YOU.

Ranveer Singh, the handsomest man in the world, acting like he’s being possessed by a ghost. Mmm hmm. WOULD.
MFW I look over the U.S. box office numbers from this past weekend. IYKYK #DesiWatch
The structure of JAB KHULI KITAAB doesn't work. My review of the family drama, streaming on ZEE5: accessbollywood.net/2026/03/24/m... #DesiWatch
My review of #Dhurandhar2
Too long, too violent, too jingoistic. #DesiWatch
Man, I hate Baghban. I can’t imagine it’s aged well.
#desiwatch
How HOW HOOOOW did the director who made The Burning Train also make Baghban?!?

Wanted to watch something cute and not serious and decided to watch Made in Korea and then they ended it like that!? #desiwatch
Hey #Desiwatch pals, I’m looking to branch out from my mostly-Hindi film experience; can anyone recommend some good Telegu, Malayalam, or other-language films I should seek out? I like a broad genre spectrum so I’m willing to try anything.
BORDER 2 comes to Netflix, and Amazon Prime reveals its Indian Originals slate: accessbollywood.net/2026/03/20/s... #DesiWatch
Netflix's Tamil Original film MADE IN KOREA was a big letdown and a huge missed opportunity. My review: accessbollywood.net/2026/03/19/m... #DesiWatch
I wonder if it's kinda too short a notice but Pittsburgh friends... it seems like there's a Sholay screening happening today (18th, 6pm) at Harris Theatre.

Happy Shashi Kapoor's birthday to all who celebrate! Over at the Filmi Ladies podcast, we've made a special episode looking at two of his very foreign films: Siddhartha (Conrad Rooks, 1972) and Sammy and Rosie Get Laid (Stephen Frears, 1987).

THANK YOU, THE BURNING TRAIN, FOR KNOWING THAT THERE IS NO ONE I WOULD RATHER HAVE ON HAND WHEN A PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE SOLVED.

I have not watched a movie in two months, but I'm dearly hoping we'll be able to go see Aadu 3 next week, and partner hasn't seen the first two, so Aadu it is for this evening. #DesiWatch www.youtube.com/watch?v=xOEF...

Dammit, #DesiWatch
Well, Munna 📽️ (2007, Telugu) is not a good movie, but I was so busy laughing before intermission that I can’t hate it. Prabhas’ persona is becoming clearer to me as a viewer, especially in Kalki 📽️. He was a little too old to be a college student here. Was there a planned sequel? ⭐️⭐️½ #DesiWatch
