a weird concrete shape that was originally mostly buried. originally only the top viewing port was exposed. now all the soil has eroded and it's perched on a little hill (which itself is on top of an outcrop surrounded by cliffs on 3 sides that go down a couple hundred feet into the Pacific). it's covered with graffiti.

I wanted to spend more time composing a shot, but it was starting to rain, and there was a sheer cliff right behind me!
Above #DevilsSlide looking down at #PedroRock just offshore. The road you see is the old #Highway1. A tunnel was built through the mountain due to the number of deadly car accidents and landslides along this 1.3-mile-long section that noe the Devils Slide Trail. This is in #SanMateoCounty, CA.

Since we are exploring #DevilsSlide, here is some of the interesting #strata that has been exposed by the old Highway 1 cut-through that was blasted and cut through #MontaraMountain. I took these images from the now closed-off old section of Highway 1.
