#Artists #Creatives #Stravinsky #Diaghilev Great photo, I had the honour many years ago, of visiting his tomb on the island of San Michele, near Venice, my favourite city. Stravinsky is also buried close by. Two supremely talented artists, friends & colleagues in life & reunited after they passed.

When #Diaghilev asked #Stravinsky to create the score for The Firebird, the #composer felt it was "descriptive music of a kind I did not want to write".

But when it was such a huge success earning Stravinsky international fame, he agreed to do 2 more.
