The academic film group I belong to chose "Young Frankenstein" (1974) as next week's film, and I've disliked this film since I was a kid, but I also feel self-conscious as the only one who ever seems to bring up #DisabilityInFilm, even though #DisabilityInHorrorFilm seems to be everywhere.
Back in 2012, when I curated the historic 1st #DisabilityInFilm showcase with #TCM, one film was essential: The Best Years of Our Lives. Harold Russell’s historic Oscars + themes of war & reintegration still resonate.
It airs again tonight on TCM—don’t miss it.

Hey @holyspacemonkey will your series #DisabilityInFilm include those behind the scenes? I only just found out that Roger Smith—married to Ann-Margret for 50 yrs—delved into producing, writing and pretty ingenious management of her career, after developing Myasthenia Gravis (MG).
