Audio Tag: Applause Video Tag: A large white dog in a cardigan shuffles onto stage.  He is slouched to make himself appear smaller, and he is hyperventilating.  Borf Mayer: uhm. hello. my name is [indistinct] and i'm [indistinct] uhm but [indistinct]  Audience member: SPEAK. UP. Video Tag: A technician quickly walks up on stage and tries to find his lavaliere. By the time he actually finds it, the technician is arm deep into Borf's neck fluff. He pulls it out and clips it to his sweater.  Borf: is that [indistinct]?  Technician: *sighs* Hang on. Video tag: The technician simply pulls out the lavaliere and puts it in Borf's hands. He holds the tiny microphone with both hands in a death grip.  Borf: uhm. thank you. hello my name is borf and I am. uhm. glad to be here today to talk to you about being a good boy. PUP. good pup.  ... Audio tag: the audience clamors quietly.  Borf: emotional uh. emotional support animals are a relatively new concept historically in the purview of government recognition. we've seen seeing eye dogs.. uhm observe seeing eye dogs. as far back as the 1750s in french hospitals. th- though they weren't... poodles. Audio tag: Borf holds for audience, no one laughs. Borf: it-it wasn't until the american disabilities act of 1990 that we started acknowledging dogs and other animals could provide various levels of positive feedback to... to uh... to mental health. people like dogs. they're soft, friendly, eager to please.  Video Tag: The screen behind borf shows a patent blueprint of what appears to be a Puphood with a glass visor along the front shaped like a bone.  Borf: so we uh... as my publicist suggested i say, took this to the next level. the second level. which is... more than the first. GOODPUPS are a... uh... revolutionary experiment that we took for people in need of a workforce that can provide emotional support and empathic intelligence that could be deployed for a number of departments. addiction recovery, cognitive behavioral therapy, suicide prevention, and treatment for ptsd. i have based the GOODPUPS behavior engrams around a brain scan of a good boy. something idealized from someone that takes great joy in seeing others happy to encourage maximum care. Video Tag: the next slide plays and it shows a picture of Borf wearing a complicated helmet attached to a computer. Borf blushes and pokes his tongue out a little. Borf: is me.  Audio tag: a few scattered laughs from the audience Video Tag:  Borf's tail begins to wag before he clears his throat. Borf: GOODPUPS can be implemented as your entire workforce or with a select few to increase morale, and assist in therapeutic care. i will be training them myself in a program as we roll out a trial simulation in an expensive.... uh training... thing. now in terms of the technical specifications... Video Tag: several members of the audience have fallen asleep as he slips into the technical specifications.

Borf is the kind of person who waits patiently to speak his mind so as not to interrupt you despite the fact you haven't said anything for the last fifteen minutes. His GOODPUPS seem to enjoy his method of training though.

Life can be like a towel. when you don't take care of it, it's crumpled, soggy, and bundled in a corner. But it's so important to care for your things! You take your flippers and lift it up, send it through the wash with fabric softener, a dryer sheet, and a sprinkle of lavender and it's good and fresh. But that's not enough, no no no. It shouldn't be tossed aside yet again, presentation is everything. Folding and creasing and, if you like, ironing to make those creases nice and defined. Folding into thirds lengthwise then thirds widthwide to make a nice compact rectangle. but we're not done, Sir! Then we fold the corners to make a point and roll them tightly to make a tucked pocket. And stack them neatly with the rest. You could be stacked neatly with the rest if you wished, Sir. No one will mind if you put your feat up and tuck your thoughts away so you can enjoy the alleviating sensation of a neat and orderly existence. oh you thought we were talking about sheets and towels. No no no. See that is exactly what I am talking about. Far too much stress. Far too much spontaneous behaviors outside the itinerary. We have a lovely schedule set up for our day so you don't have to worry about what needs to be done. And once that is all said and cared for, we'll have a lovely fireplace set for you, a pot of tea brewed with your favorite leaf, and a book for one of your staff to read as you drift off. You won't lift a finger unless The Polished Bill Butler service believes you should! Oh you're looking so relaxed already. And that's perfectly according to plan! A good Drone is about turndown service. Drones not thinking? No no no. Nonsense. They DO think. but all their minds are filled with are fork placements, fine dining, proper fabric maintenance. All the tiny idiosyncrasies of your daily life, and breathing! Name? Don't worry about that dear, you don't memorize the name of the help. If you don't even know mine, it means we're doing our job exquisitely. We are meant to be invisible in your life. noticed, felt, not seen. Service with a smile.  Penelope Adele runs the Polished Bill Academy. A swiss finishing school for the finest butlers on the planet. Penelope is actually quite new to hypnosis. Kai Tyde requested if she could come bring her butler training to Cognizant, She spent the next two months learning hypnosis techniques and found they weren't considerably different from her usual pampering service.
