Something to celebrate the beginning of the last part of Dr. Stone.
Gen was originally the one who lured me into it. I stumbled upon a fanart, and was like: "Oh, this character design looks interesting, what is this anime, maybe I'll give it a try".

Good Monday Morning Otakus and Everyone. #DrStone
The crowd looks on and says of Kinro, "He's dodging each one, just barely!"
Kinro, in Suika's mask, says, "I'm grateful for the science, Suika, Senku."
Kinro, wearing the mask, says, "Had science helped me conquer my eyes,..."
Kinro, wearing the mask, says, "I would have surpassed our strength long ago."
The Eyes of Science have at least evened the odds for Kinro. But will it be enough to win the Grand Bout? Or are there more obstacles to overcome with science (and shenanigans)? Stay tuned! #DrStone 1.13.16
Kinro, now wearing Suika's mask with the eyes of science
Magma, all fuzzy, asks Kinro, "What's the deal with that goofy mask?"
Kinro says, "My vision..." as Magma comes into focus in front of him
Kinro can see the strike coming at him and he easily dodges out of the way, thinking, "So this is science!"
Remember how Kinro was reluctant to admit that he had “fuzzy sickness” because he saw it as a weakness? Well, now that he can see through the eyes of science, he’s at least ready to admit how powerful an ally Senku the Scientist can be! #DrStone 1.13.15
Suika says, "Kinro's straining his eyes."
Suika tells Senku, "Kinro probably has the fuzzy sickness in his eyes."
Suika takes off her mask with the lenses and throws it toward Kinro, who is fighting Magma in the tournament
Suika screams, "It's the eyes of science, Kinro!"
The next bit of science used to win the Grand Bout isn’t cheating at all. Suika recognizes that Kinro is having trouble seeing in his fight with Magma and deduces that he might have the fuzzy sickness. With no spare lenses, Suika lets him borrow her mask. #DrStone 1.13.14
Senku lists the ingredients as Ginro drinks it, saying, "It's made from tea leaves, honey, and sweet flag."
Ginro eats a bunch of sweet flag as Senku says, "The caffeine's a stimulant, the sweet flag will keep you cool,"
Ginro keeps eating as Senku says, "... and the honey will jack your blood sugar through the roof."
You’re probably familiar with the energetic effects of caffeine derived from tea and the sugar rush that comes from honey, sweet flag, or Acorus calamus, has been used in traditional medicine to treat digestive discomfort, but may be toxic if ingested. #DrStone 1.13.13
Senku holds up a bottle of a beige-beverage with a skull in it and says, "A rigged Grand Bout is won by doping,"
Senku holds up a bottle of a beige-beverage with a skull in it and says, "...with this Kingdom special science power-up drink!"
Chrome, Suika, Kinro, Ginro, and Kohaku look on and ask Senku, "Does it have some kind of crazy drug in it?"
Chrome, Suika, Kinro, Ginro, and Kohaku look on as Senku says, "Sadly, it's perfectly safe."
Senku is not above using science to cheat if it means his team can win the Grand Bout, secure the alcohol, and save Ruri (in more ways than one; the winner gets to marry her and no one wants Magma to get that honor). But how’s a drink going to help them win? #DrStone 1.13.12
Kaseki says, "If you win the Grand Bout tomorrow,"
Kaseki says, "... the villagers will give you more than you can ever finish."
There’s a quicker if not more elegant solution: Win the Grand Bout and get all the alcohol they’ll ever need! The problem is that the Grand Bout is a feat of strength. Senku will have to lend his scientific might to their strongest fighters to win the day! #DrStone 1.13.11
the road map shows they still need acetic anhydride, sodium bicarbonate, and anilin
a close-up on Senku who says, "We can't make any of it without alcohol."
a close-up on Senku who says, "Put another way, if we just get some alcohol..."
an antibiotic pill is shown as Senku says off-screen, "We'll have the ultimate cure-all, sulfa drugs."
Senku says they can’t progress the roadmap any further without alcohol. This is a curious statement since Senku previously made alcohol from grapes, but perhaps they simply don’t have the time to wait for them to ferment and then distill the alcohol from them. #DrStone 1.13.10
Chrome and Senku march off as Senku says, "Let's go get some ammonia."
Senku and Chrome pee into a bottle with a rainbow over it
An exaggerated close-up of Kohaku as she asks, "And you're going to make Ruri-nee drink that?"
Kohaku may be temporarily appeased by Senku assuring her that they’re only using those dangerous chemicals to prepare the antibiotics. But when they produce ammonia by collecting their own urine, she is rightfully upset all over again. #DrStone 1.13.9
Senku holds up the sodium hydroxide bottle and says, "This chemical is ULTRA dangerous."
Senku holds up the sodium hydroxide bottle and says, "The yakuza use it to melt corpses."
Kohaku stands in the doorway and says, "A drug that makes you blind, turns you into a zombie, and melts your corpse."
An exaggerated close-up of Kohaku as she asks, "You're going to make Ruri-nee drink that?"
Strong bases like sodium hydroxide, aka lye or drain cleaner, can indeed be used to break down fatty components of, yes, bodies. They’re better than strong acids at that particular job. So Kohaku is rightfully concerned that Senku wants Ruri to drink any of these chemicals! #DrStone 1.13.8
Senku holds electric leads in the saltwater, as bubbles gather around one of them. He says, "Man, it smells like a swimming pool."
Senku holds the leads in the saltwater while Chrome watches. Senku says, "Separate the salt water using electricity, and ..."
the road map shows Sodium Hydroxide
Electrolysis of salt water - applying electrical energy to break bonds in water and sodium chloride - generates chlorine gas and hydrogen gas (that’s the bubbles you see), with sodium hydroxide staying in solution #DrStone 1.13.7
Senku holds up a flask with skulls floating out of it and says, "Now we have chlorosulfuric acid."
Senku holds up a flask with skulls floating out of it and says, "This stuff is REALLY dangerous."
Senku holds up a flask with skulls floating out of it and says, "Get it on your skin, and you'll turn into a skulking zombie."
Boiling the sinters and adding the condensate into HCl yields chlorosulfuric acid, HSO3Cl. Industrially, this comes from reacting HCl with SO3 in H2SO4, though Senku glosses over the SO3 in the reaction. HSO3Cl causes burns upon exposure and can perforate the esophagus and stomach. #DrStone 1.13.6
Senku climbs up the rocky slope at the hot springs and says, "Next, the sinters from the sulfuric acid spring,"
Senku climbs up the rocky slope at the hot springs and says, "...which people love taking home from hot springs."
Suika drips water on a condenser that runs from a round bottom boiling flask down to a collection flask as Senku says, "Boil this stuff, throw it into the hydrochloric acid we just made, and ..."
the roadmap shows chlorosulfuric acid
The safety data sheet for HCl says, “Avoid contact with eyes. Corrosive to the eyes and may cause severe damage including blindness.” As with any acid or base, the severity of its effects increase with concentration. As for sinters, these are silica deposits in hot springs. #DrStone 1.13.5
Chrome asks, "Are we catching the gas that's coming out of the ..."
Chrome asks, "...sulfuric acid and salt mixture as it drips?"
Senku holds his flask and says, "Now we've got hydrochloric acid."
Senku says, "Get it in your eyes, and you'll go blind."
Salt, NaCl, is poured into the flask and concentrated sulfuric acid is added, producing hydrogen chloride gas, which bubbles through water to form hydrochloric acid. At room temp, HCl is a colorless gas, but water vapor turns it into the aqueous solution form of HCl. #DrStone 1.13.4
Senku says, "First we boil the sulfuric acid we got, and add a pinch of salt."
Suika looks at a complicated flask and says, "There's a weird glass sculpture with a stick in the middle."
Kaseki cries and says, "How dare you make me make such a complicated thing?!"
Senku calls his flask a water dripping machine.
Senku starts with synthesizing hydrochloric acid by combining sulfuric acid from the hot springs with salt from salt water. Thankfully Kaseki was up to the challenge of making this complicated-looking flask – a combo distillation and condenser – that drips water into the solution. #DrStone 1.13.3
on the roadmap, Senku holds an iron bat, Chrome generates electricity from his fingers, Kohaku puts salt on onigiri, and a pool of sulfuric acid is shown, as Senku says, "Now it's just a matter of lighting up ..."
the antibiotic roadmap is shown, as Senku says off-screen, "... all the dark spots on the roadmap, one by one." Iron, Electricity, Salt, and Sulfuric Acid are lit up
A close-up on Senku as he says, "Time for mad chemical cooking!"
The antibiotic roadmap is shown again, with the addition of sodium hydroxide, sodium hydrogen sulfate, hydrochloric acid, and chlorosulfuric acid are lit up
Let’s revisit the antibiotic roadmap: Senku has a good start with some foundational chemicals and proper glassware. He’ll be able to make sodium hydroxide, sodium hydrogen sulfate, hydrochloric acid, and chlorosulfuric acid easily enough. #DrStone 1.13.2
scrap of parchment that says Masked Warrior in English and Japanese
Senku and the team have almost everything they need to complete the antibiotic roadmap! All that’s left is some chemical synthesis using existing materials, and some alcohol, which happens to be available in great supply to whoever wins the village’s Grand Bout! #DrStone 1.13.1

Chrome , Senku, and Ginro celebrate as they shout, "We've obtained sulfuric acid!"
After all the drama at the sulfuric acid pool and back at the village, Senku’s science, Chrome’s loyalty, and Ginro’s bravery win the day. They’ve secured sulfuric acid! Now, they can continue their roadmap and progress Stone Age science in the upcoming episodes! #DrStone 1.12.23
