In early modern Italy many medicines, especially patent ones, came with a little sheet informing patients of how to use them, when, and for what. Medical regulation came out of state offices and guild government #earlymodern #histmed

#earlymodern literature peeps: this dude has an early modern drama PhD and is moaning that his advisor "read every tragedy written in English until 1640" because almost all of them were "garbage," even though the process was "gruelling but instructive."

Look at how pretty this manuscript damage is. Any cross disciplinary scholars want to explain why iron gall ink would repel (water? who knows) in this way? A chemistry friend of a friend provided the structural formula. #earlymodern #skystorians #histsci

a couple of a deer (sika/reindeer hybrid) and another animal who is a hybrid of an anglo-nubian goat and an african wild dog

princess marianne I (born 25 january 1782) of the house of montreux is the heir apparent of a fictional kingdom on an island west of france, and she is an anglican protestant native to the capital city of "new liverpool"

her interests include law, music, art, literature, and history; she is carefree, cheerful and optimistic, but to the point sometimes of being naive, but she's also transparent, and she's outgoing and friendly

joanna hamilton (born 16 october 1784) is the daughter of an anglo-nubian goat father and an african wild dog mother, and she's a catholic native to the city of Saint-Gregoire (named after st. gregory of nyssa), which is right beside the city of New Liverpool

she is a polymath, being an engineer with expertise in physics and calculus, as well as a painter, hairdresser, and carpenter. she's highly intelligent and diligent, and while she shares marianne's optimism, she helps her rationalize it, especially due to her no-nonsense, down-to-earth personality. while she's the more introverted of the two, she is a compassionate person at heart

marianne is wearing an aristocrat-style gown with jewellery studded all over her body (including her antlers), while joanna is wearing a more commoner-style outfit, along with a wrench and hammer in her pocket, while fixing the hair of her loved one
