Ireland is the 2nd best performing economy globally in 2024. We are now in the best position to achieve national targets of #EUCHILDGUARANTEE. All parties promised a #Publicsystem for early years in #GE24.They need to show their political ambitions with a powerful kick-start in 2025 to achieve it.

A productive exchange on strategies for child protection! While in Brussels, I met with Rares Achiriloaie, #ChildChancesCoordinator for Romania. We discussed how our countries can work together to fight child poverty and achieve the goals of the #EUChildGuarantee!
At the conference I shared our #EUChildGuarantee implementation strategies here in Germany, as well as learned from what other EU countries are doing. In addition to speaking for Germany at the conference, I met with colleagues and members of civil society to exchange ideas.

In the EU, 22.2% of children are at risk of poverty or social exclusion. In Germany that number is barely lower – about 20% of children. With the #EUChildGuarantee, the EU aims to prevent and combat social exclusion by guaranteeing effective access of all children to key rights:
