Monarch park welcomes Ms. and Mr. C! https://www.forestr.org/monarch/ We have the very great pleasure to share the great news that Ms.C (our resident crow sister) has found a love and set up house in preparation for possibly even more good news to come soon. Neighbors might remember that a short time ago, this land was solid, clay filled, dead soil. Forestrs composted it, mulched it, watered and nurtured it ... bring the land back to life and filling it with insects, worms, and even new Monarch butterfly families (3 so far and counting). That rejuvenated land soon drew the interest of our dear Ms.C. She has been a regular there now for a couple of months. Helping clean litter from the space and watching over the growing flowers, milkweeds, redwoods, and fruit forrest saplings. It seems she approves ... gracing us by calling in her love and building a new home there. We will endeavor to honor her in return. Keep the growing spaces watered, clean, and welcoming for what we hope will be her little ones to come soon <3 #earthdayeveryday

38 volunteers came out this weekend to collect a total of 21 bags of litter (and sundry items) from along the side of your 580W freeway. We want to thank each and every cleaning member and a special thanks to the Castro Valley High School’s Outdoors Club for participating in this morning of cleaning. So many friends, Forestrs, neighbors, and students joined us that we had extra time to carry out some fire abatement work. Clearing away dry/dead shrubbery that might become fire hazards. Collecting cuttings in cuttings piles we can use for water swales in the future. With a little extra time to protect a lovely native tree as it reaches for the sky. #earthdayeveryday
