4/7 Edmonton-Strathcona carries special weight - home turf of two NDP leaders, including Rachel Notley.
Former Calgary mayor Naheed Nenshi seeks to continue that tradition, facing five other candidates in the core-area riding.

Ask Candidates To Support ADHD Bill C329. An Act To Establish A National Framework Respecting ADHD Leave a Comment / ADD / ADHD Advocacy, Politics ADHD related / By Pete Quily Please ask Federal Candidates To Support ADHD Bill C-329. An Act To Establish A National Framework Respecting ADHD. This is a private member’s bill by NDP MP Heather McPherson, Edmonton Strathcona, whose son Mac has gone public with having ADHD. It went to first reading, but there is a lottery to decide which bills go further, and she lost out. Let’s make bill C-329 happen. Ideally, I should have done this at the start of the election, but better late than never, eh? Parliament passed private members’ Bill C-230. March 28 2023. An Act respecting a federal framework on Autism Spectrum Disorder by Conservative Quebec Senator Leo Housakos. Parliament should pass Bill C-329. An Act To Establish A National Framework Respecting ADHD. The best is in person. I’m going to a second all-candidates debate tonight, but you can also try phone, email, or maybe social media. However, social media is less likely to work nowadays. Politicians are more one-way marketing robots vs. two-way conversation types online, especially because of far-right trolls harassing them. Best time to ask a politician a question is when they want your vote during an election. If they say yes, they will please leave a comment on this post or email me at pete AT addcoach4u.com Bonus points if you have audio or video. If you’re willing, please post it on your social media, and I’ll post it here and on my Bluesky and Facebook accounts. HOUSE OF COMMONS OF CANADA. Election 2025: Heather McPherson keeps Edmonton Strathcona for third straight election Published Apr 28, 2025 • Last updated 16 hours ago • 2 minute read Heather McPherson NDP Edmonton Strathcona Heather McPherson of Edmonton Strathcona, walks off the stage after speaking to supporters as it became clear that she was the winner in her riding on Monday, April 28, 2025, in Edmonton. Photo by Greg Southam /Postmedia Incumbent NDP MLA Heather McPherson has kept her seat for the third straight election. Edmonton Strathcona is the sole NDP riding projected in Alberta with Edmonton Griesbach flipping from NDP to Conservative, knocking out incumbent Blake Desjarlais. Speaking to reporters at La Cité, the NDP headquarters for the evening, McPherson said she was grateful to be re-elected in Edmonton Strathcona, but voiced her disappointment that some of her colleagues would not be joining her back in Ottawa. This advertisement has not loaded yet, but your article continues below. “I didn’t want to be a lone orange dot in a sea of blue…I wanted Albertans to have New Democrats fighting for them,” McPherson said. “We’ll see what the final results are in the end. But as one of the NDP caucus, I’m going to work with my team, and we’re going to rebuild. We’re going to come back stronger.” McPherson was first elected in 2019 and had among the largest margins of victory in the 2021 election with 61 per cent of the vote. This year, she was up against Liberal candidate Ron Thiering, who represented the Liberals in the past two federal elections, but was defeated and Conservative candidate Miles Berry, who previously ran as the UCP candidate for Edmonton-Gold Bar in Alberta’s 2023 provincial election. The federal New Democratic Party has held strong in Edmonton Strathcona since 2008, when NDP’s Linda Duncan, in a narrow margin of victory, pushed out the Conservatives. Since then, the riding has stayed orange and was one of two NDP seats won in all of Alberta in the 2021 elec…

You have watched the debate over the last few days, who would you pick to lead the country. A vote for Ron is a vote for Mark Carney.

#DanielleSmith told @mark-carney.bsky.social “we want answers” Yes we do:
•Did you fire the #AHS CEO to stop her investigation?
•why won’t you call a byelection in #EdmontonStrathcona
•Do you plan to build pipelines through First Nations land without their consent?
Neither rain, nor sleet, nor snow (and we had all three today) will stop the #EdmontonStrathcona door knocking team from visiting new constituents in #RoyalGardens! What an amazing team! 🥰
Heather is a real fighter & one of the most intelligent, professional and no-bullshit people I've ever met in my life. Honest if I were to choose our next #PrimeMinister myself it would be a hard choice between #CharlieAngus and #HeatherMcPherson.
Heather is MP in #EdmontonStrathcona where I live.
Thank you @rachelnotley.bsky.social You are a gifted leader!
All the best in what’s next!
